The XI Annual one-day PTIS State Level Techfest-2017 was hosted here at Rayat Polytechnic College on April 18, 2017. The Science & Technology fest conducted under the aegis of Punjab Technical Institutes' Sports (PTIS), the governing body of polytechnic Colleges of Punjab witnessed a never before mixture of events. The fest provided technical students to showcase, discuss, and enhance their technical skills.
The Tech Fest was inaugurated by Hon'able Chairman S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Worthy Campus Director, Dr. Suresh Seth, Dr. Ajay Goyal, Director, RIEIT, Dr. Maninder Singh, Principal RPC, in the august presence of Mr. Tilak Raj, PTIS Joint Secretary and Mr. Akshay Jilowa, PTIS Org. Secretary.
More than 500 participants from 25 Govt. and private polytechnics showcased their projects during the fest. Every participant showed huge enthusiasm and all the events were managed amiably and brilliantly. The overall trophy was bagged by Rayat Polytechnic College and the runner up overall trophy went to Mehr Chand polytechnic, Jalandhar.
At the valedictory cum prize distribution ceremony, S. Narinder Singh, President PTIS, spoke about the theme of Techfest-2017. "Techfest aims to encourage polytechnic students from all over Punjab to come together to display their fervour for science and technology. I am confident that Techfest 2017 will emerge as yet another grand avenue to showcase and celebrate the innovation, ingenuity, teamwork and talent of polytechnic students", he spoke. Taking an example of a common man in Punjab, who recently invented a geyser using natural resource, he explained how work experience will lead to creativity of things. He congratulated and thanked Rayat-Bahra Ropar campus for organizing PTIS Techfest 2017 on such a large scale.
In his address, Worthy Campus Director Dr. Suresh Seth said, "Ideas form the basis of an occasion which leads the technical student to imagine, work and invent new technology. Such events encourage new technocrats to explore new technical aspects and innovate something beyond imagination for society."
Dr. Maninder Singh, Principal RPC proposed sincere vote of thanks to all dignitaries, participants and students for making this event such an excellent and remarkable one. He said the college felt proud to have organized such a successful event and the in-charge various committees deserve appreciation for contributing their complete efforts in successfully planning and executing the fest.
The event proved to be a creative break for the students and they reflected their best ideas and potential. It was a kind of powerful outflow from students of their hidden potential. And so, "TECHFEST – 2017" filled by students with innumerable colors of creativity, innovative ideas, confident performances, sportsmanship spirit, fervor and unstoppable energy was made an unforgettable experience to be cherished forever.
